Thin Film Coating Capabilities
Our facility is fully equipped to provide in-house coating design, comprehensive testing, and production in low, high, and OEM quantities. Our custom designed 32″ vacuum coating chambers insure the highest quality coatings. Our 64″ vacuum chambers can coat substrates up to 24″ in diameter. All chambers utilize electron beam guns and precise optical monitoring for consistency. Coatings are checked at our clean air inspection stations, while the effects of temperature and humidity are evaluated in our environmental test chamber.
A broad range of coating capabilities
While our coatings surpass the highest industry standards, so does our dedication to service and fast delivery. Our extensive line of coatings includes numerous standard and off-the-shelf products, as well as many unique custom designed filters and coatings. For most coatings, the effective wavelength region can be shifted toward shorter or longer wavelengths to meet specific requirements.
Depositions are produced in a series of custom designed 32” and 64” diameter coating chambers. Coatings are precisely monitored using a combination of optical and crystal quartz monitoring techniques.
Ion assisted deposition (IAD) is a key component in producing durable coatings. IAD allows high quality coatings to be manufactured in each of our 64” coating chambers.
Using four 24” diameter plates in each 64” chamber, large area substrates and high quantities are handled efficiently. Tooling is also available for substrates up to 29 inches in diameter.
GLASS FABRICATION CAPABILITIES
Abrisa can apply a variety of precision processes, individually or in combination, to any glass substrate. Some of our capabilities include:
Cutting
Glass cutting services include precision cutting
of shapes and circles, waterjet cutting, glass
tube cutting, and precision sawing of squares
and rectangles.
Edging
Finishing the sharp edges of cut glass is applied
for safe handling, chip reduction, or aesthetics.
We provide angled and multilevel bevels, seams,
corner dubbing, circle or flat ground, pencil, and polished edging.
Screenprinting / Etching
New technology and state-of-the-art equipment allow for high precision printing accuracy. We can combine conductive or display inks and custom colors using epoxy, enamel or ceramic-based inks for busbar, display, logo, and lettering applications. Opaque and semitransparent inks are available.
Machining
Our machining department provides precision step and route surface, CNC processing, holes and tapers, countersink or inside dimension seaming, sandblasting, lapping, notching, slotting, grooving, buffing, and laser marking.
Assembly
Abrisa provides value-added assembly work which includes gasketing, pressure sensitive adhesives, and lead wire soldering.
Strengthening
Two methods of strengthening are available:
Heat (tempering or strengthening), and chemical strengthening. The method used is determined by
the type of glass, size, thickness, optical accuracy needs, and industry quality standards.
Metrology
Prior to packaging, parts are inspected for surface and internal flaws via a series of rigorous tests to ensure that cosmetic requirements are met.
Cleaning
Our highly controlled cleaning processes include an array of specialized flat glass washers, ultrasonic tanks, automated dryers, and our Class 100 clean room to meet the most rigorous standards in the industry.
Specialty Packaging
Abrisa also provides private label and specialty packaging. Electronic parts can be packaged in gel caps, electrostatic bags, bar coded and stocked to customer specifications.
